Aniline Point Test (˚C)

The Aniline Point is the lowest temperature at which the aniline in the same volume and the sample solution are balanced. It's made to understand how aromatic or how paraffinic we use the oil.
In all lubricants, besides the hydrocarbon molecules, there are also small amounts of atoms such as nitrogen, sulfur and oxygen. These are called hetero atoms. They are usually groups that are chemically bonded to the aromatic ring. The lower the aniline point, the more aromatic the oil is. The higher the aniline point, the more paraffinic the oil is.
